The Northumbrian Water Pension Scheme (the Scheme) is now closed to all future accrual.
If you’re a current employee of Northumbrian Water, you have access to the LifeSight pension scheme. Full details are available on the Pensions Hub that’s accessible via The Source. If you’re a former employee with benefits in the LifeSight pension scheme you can access them here.
If you are eligible to join LifeSight when you start work with Northumbrian Water, you will be automatically enrolled and contributions will be deducted from your pay. LifeSight will contact you by email to welcome you as a new member and provide access to scheme information on its website.
If you aren’t automatically enrolled, you may still opt to join. Please contact the People Services Portal for further information.
If you are automatically enrolled but don’t want to be a member of LifeSight, you can opt out at any time on the LifeSight website. If you opt out within a month of being enrolled, you will receive a refund of your first contribution. If you opt out after a month, you won’t be able to get a refund and your contributions will remain invested until you retire or transfer to another pension scheme.
If you continue to work for Northumbrian Water, you may be automatically re-enrolled every three years in line with pension regulations.
